Dr. Lara Thompson

Naturopathic Physician

Naturopathic medicine saved my life and helped my mom at the end of her life fueling my passion to help as many people as possible find relief from suffering and health struggles.

I like to think of myself as a doctor practicing medicine balanced in science and heart. I've worked in the medical and health services related field since 2001, starting off as a family support case worker in an emergency room then as a medical case worker for HIV positive adults. I left the social services field to pursue a career in medical research involved with clinical trials for HIV prevention, treatment, and reproductive health.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family and my rescue dogs, cozied up on the couch with a book, watching a movie, or spending time outside in the beautiful PNW!

All ages, identities, and conditions are welcome in my practice.

Some of the many concerns that I have helped patients improve:

  • chronic pain, headaches, fibromyalgia, TMJ, CRPS

  • chronic fatigue, frequent colds and infections

  • urinary and sexual health concerns

  • allergies, sinus and ear infections

  • eczema/psoriasis/rashes/acne

  • PCOS, PMS/PMDD, hot flashes, mood swings

  • motor vehicle accidents and traumatic brain injuries

  • stress, trouble sleeping, anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief and loss, addiction, and overall mental health

  • reflux, constipation, diarrhea, Crohns, colitis, IBS

  • chemical and environmental sensitivities

  • being a highly sensitive or empathic person

Some additional areas of clinical interest include but are not limited to trauma and chronic health issues, genomic medicine, LGBTQQ* and gender non-conforming health,

I use many different modalities in my practice including:

  • counseling

  • genomic medicine

  • nutrition

  • high quality supplements and botanical medicine

  • Naturopathic Physical Medicine/Therapy including gentle muscle and skeletal adjustments, craniosacral therapy, reiki, hydrotherapy, and visceral manipulation.

What lights me up about this work is the feedback from patients as their lives and health improve.
