Dr. Lara Thompson
Naturopathic Physician
My philosophy of practice...
There are many factors that contribute to the development of physical and mental symptoms - a diversified approach to care is most effective in addressing chronic health issues.
A typical visit often includes counseling/conversation, education, physical exam, hands on therapies, ordering diagnostic testing/imaging and creation of customized wellness plans that may include movement, nutrition, supplements, herbs, natural injection therapy, homeopathy, and/or resources like books/articles/videos.
Health and wellness are defined by you and your vitality - how you feel in your body and experience being you - this is a guiding principle in my practice. My demeanor and approach works best with folks that value nature based approaches, transparency, kindness, patience, and compassion for themselves and others. As a neurodivergent person with my own health struggles, you may find me taking extra time, observe long pauses or directness, or being extra thorough.
Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion are cornerstones of my practice, I am a trauma informed, body neutral/size inclusive/fat friendly, sex positive, 2SLGBTQIAP* inclusive provider.
Healing takes times - having patience with yourself and your body is important - while I focus on simple interventions, the healing process can be hard. Together, we'll discover what's contributed to the disturbance in you or your loved one's health.
